BODi Blocks vs Super BODi Blocks: Here’s what to know. : The Fit Habit

BODi Blocks and Super BODi Blocksis anyone else confused yet? I certainly am. But after taking some time to dig into all this new Beachbody lingo, I think I’ve come up with a quick and dirty answer, so that’s what I’ll address in this blog post.

Specifically, I’ll cover what a BODi Block is, why it’s different and why you may (or may not) want to buy one.

BODi Blocks vs Super BODi Blocks: Here’s what to know. : The Fit Habit

Um, What’s a BODi Block Exactly?

Before we dive into the differences between BODi Blocks and Super BODi Blocks, let’s first take a look at what BODi Blocks actually are.

BODi Blocks are a series of workout programs that are designed to help you reach your fitness goals in a sustainable and effective manner. You might be wondering – aren’t all Beachbody programs designed to do that? well, yes, but Blocks are different in that they are shorter and more integrative. Here’s what I mean…

Each BODi Block includes five workouts per week for three weeks, followed by an UP week (which stands for “Unconditional Progress). This is basically a recovery week where your workouts get easier so your body can integrate all the work it just did and repair.

There are currently four BODi Block fitness plans available on BODi that are free and accessible to anyone who has a BODi Membership. They include the following…

All-BODi Block

The All-BODi Block is an innovative mix of strength training, cardio, core work, and mobility drills that help you get in the best shape of your life.

Bike Block

The Bike Block is a fun, well-balanced mix of cycling and strength training that’s big on results.

Iron Block

The Iron Block is a traditional weightlifting program paired with cutting-edge split training that will help you optimize your muscle-building while dialing up your calorie burn.

For Beginners Only Super Block

The For Beginners Only Super Block is a great starting point for those who are brand-new to fitness or are getting back to it after a break.

Okay, so What’s a Super BODi Block?

Barre Blend super block

A Super BODi Block is the same structure as a regular BODi Block, only there is a cost attached. Super Blocks are also new content, based on the best-selling programs on Beachbody, developed with this new format in mind.

The Key Difference Between Super BODi Blocks + BODi Blocks then?

From what I can see, the key difference between a BODi Block and a Super BODi Block is that the Super Blocks are new material, where as the regular (free) Blocks are just curated workouts that already exist on BODi on Demand.

How Much Are BODi Super Blocks?

BODi Super Blocks are $29 USD ($35 CAD, £29 GBP, €35 EUR) for each individual program. However, it’s important to note that you need a BODi Membership in order to purchase one. BODi Memberships are $179 USD per year and without question I think it’s worth the price (for the membership).

If you’re a new customer, you get a free BODi Block when you purchase the BODi Starter Bundle which includes the annual membership, Shakeology, a nutrition tracker and food portion containers. You can find more info on the Starter Bundle here.

So, Are Super BODi Blocks Worth it?

That depends on you. If you’re someone who thrives with the structure of a planned workout and there’s a trainer you can’t get enough of, then yes – it makes sense to buy a Super Block.

Personally I have always loved Barre Blend. I’m a huge fan of Barre Workouts and I have always gotten great results from them. Elise Joan is probably one of the best barre instructors out there, so would I spend $29 to have a remix of that program? Absolutely.

In fact, she just launched the Barre Blend Super Block, and you can access the free sample workout right here. Again, her super block is $29, so in my mind, it’s worth it. But to be honest, I don’t think I’d buy any of the other ones.

The Bottom Line on BODi Blocks

I think if you’re someone who enjoys the structure of a workout program and likes something that’s short and to the point, then BODi Blocks are a no-brainer. Super Blocks I guess are only worth it if you want the latest and greatest from your favorite trainers and programs.

With that said, I’m curious – would you buy a Super BODi Block?
